Cynic – Re-Traced: Cynic to Release a Remix Album

Cynic has reworked four of the songs from their 2008 album, Traced in Air. The last track, “Wheels Within Wheels”, is an entirely new song. Re-Traced will be out on May 17th and I’ve had the chance to check it out.
It’s a bit strange at first. It’s not really metal. Imagine what would happen if Cynic worked together with the modern Ulver. This is almost exactly what you would get. There are some guitars here and there (mostly on “Wheels Within Wheels”) but the album is mostly keyboards and atmosphere. Also, the voice is clean and less processed that it was on Traced in Air. It’s cool to hear his actual voice on some of the songs.

Yes! Freaking Cynic…Traced in Air was a masterpiece. I can't wait for this new remix as well as their new album…
I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy Re-Traced a lot…I love Ulver (old as much as the new stuff), so..:D

guess im the black sheep here this time. i hated traced in air, it just came off as pretentious bullshit to me with little real substance.

they just released an album in 2008…
anyway, i dunno if i'll get it, i already have traced in air, and i fucking love it. I just want new material really.
