What a massive wall of noise. It’s like a tank- no, it’s more like bulldozer with a cannon rolling through your living room. Let’s do a tiny review then you can listen for yourself.
Witch Vomit is a Portland, OR based death metal band and they’ve just unleashed Buried Deep in a Bottomless Grave. The production quality and the guitar tone reminds me a bit of Hail of Bullets. The music doesn’t though. The melodies and pacing are reminiscent of older Morbid Angel and several other bands that people can yell at me for not mentioning. Normally, old-school death metal isn’t my main thing, but Witch Vomit has this looming ominousness that I really get into.
Most of the songs keep a slower pace, only occasionally blasting for a few bars then returning to the death metal slog. The vocals are low, guttural- as is the guitar for that matter. I’m done writing. Check them out on bandcamp or listen to the album below:
